This year's "The International" will be held in the United States from the 31st of August to the 2nd day of September 2012.
NeutralCreeps.com brings forth a list of teams that have the highest chances of being invited the second International Dota 2 tournament.
List of Dota 2 teams with a good chance of being invited:
1) Natus Vincere - Ukraine
Status: Confirmed
Chance: High
As the winners of the first International Dota 2 tournament, it's a no-brainer that they will be back to defend the crown.
2) Absolute Legends - Australia
Status: Confirmed
Chance: High
Wrecking havoc against SEA and European Dota 2 teams has given this Australian team an automatic invite to The International 2. The team is out to show that Australia is much more than just the home of the most popular English Dota 2 casters.
3) EHOME - China
Status: Confirmed
Chance: High
Finishing 2nd in last year's tournament, the Chinese eSport club has decided to start practicing sooner in order to take a shot at going all the way.
4) Counter Logic Gaming - Sweden
Status: Confirmed
Chance: High
Europe has been CLG's playground for the past few months. Sweden is the home of DreamHack and DotA song writer, Basshunter. Will it be the future home of a Dota 2 champion?
5) Zenith - Singapore
Status: Confirmed
Chance: High
They were in the International last year under the name, "Scythe.SG" and placed third. With a long DotA history, Zenith will definitely be in The International 2.
6) Orange - Malaysia
Status: Confirmed
Chance: High
Performing well in one of the most competitive DotA scenes in the world always gets you points. Bannered by Malaysian DotA legends, Orange has a good chance of showing the world what SEA Dota is all about.
7) Virtus Pro - Russia
Status: Not Yet Confirmed
Chance: Medium
A rich DotA history and a strong run in Dota 2 may be enough to send VP to Seattle.
8) Quantic Gaming - United States
Status: Not Yet Confirmed
Chance: High
Good performance in the North American Dota 2 scene.
9) Complexity Gaming - United States
Status: Confirmed
Chance: High
A stable roster helps improve chances to be invited. Being US-based is another plus factor.
10) Moscow 5 - Russia
Status: Confirmed
Chance: High
Finishing 5th in last year's The International is a plus factor.
11) mTw - European Selection
Status: Not Yet Confirmed
Chance: Medium
syndereN willed his way to a DreamHack Winter 2011 title as a Wild Honey Badger.
12) Duskbin - Philippines
Status: Not Yet Confirmed
Chance: Medium
The Philippines is one of the largest markets for Dota 2. With a stable roster and an excellent performance in LAN Dota 2 tournaments in the Southeast Asian region, Duskbin is an excellent choice.
13) DK - China
Status: Confirmed
Chance: High
You can't have a major Dota 2 tournament with only 1 Chinese team showing up. As one of the Chinese teams who have concentrated on Dota 2 rather than Warcraft 3 DotA, DK is sure to be on Valve's radar.
14) mouz - European Selection
Status: Not Yet Confirmed
Chance: Medium
SingSing brings in an audience.
15) Evil Geniuses - United States
Status: Confirmed
Chance: Medium
Being Americans, they won't have any visa issues and could be called to substitute for a team that does not make it at a moment's notice. Carrying the name of a well-known eSport team does not hurt either.
16) DD - Denmark
Status: Not Yet Confirmed
Chance: Medium
The Danish team has been showing a great run in the European Dota 2 scene.
17) Darer - European Selection
Status: Confirmed
Chance: Medium
Being led by the captain of last year's champions can get you somewhere.
18) Invictus Gaming - China
Status: Confirmed
Chance: Medium
The team made headlines last year with it's multi-million dollar acquisition by Wang Sicong. Placing 6th in the 1st International, having a stable team and a huge sponsor that can help market Dota 2 in China can get you an invite.
19) MitH-Trust - Thailand
Status: Not Yet Confirmed
Chance: Low
They placed 8th in last year's The International and showed a Morphling that will not be easily forgotten.
Barring any US Visa problems, confirmed teams will be the ones we will be seeing in Seattle.
