I was kind of hoping Dota 2 would be going in the direction HoN did and change up the heroes names and appearances. I don't really want to play with exactly the same hero names and models as dota.

ReplyDeleteIve played all 3 HON Dota and LOL and so far ive found HON is the best in graphics etc etc and LOL to be good in some gameplay aspects but they are vague mirrors of dota, now that dota 2 is here I bet it will leave both hon and lol in the dust.

ReplyDeleteWhy are people arguing before the game come in... DotA was made before HoN hence the bad graphics and slightly weaker interface which makes sense. That's why I'm waiting for DotA 2 to come out while playing HoN and I'm sure DotA 2 is gonna have some pretty mint graphics.

ReplyDeleteHoN was pretty fun but there were a few changes that i was so used to in DotA that it bugged me enough for me to stop playing it and went back to DotA.

Why do everyone hates HoN.. someone is right, icefrog co-created HoN. that is why some of the DotA heroes are in the HoN, and they are making new heroes to create a remarkable trend far from DotA.. both games are amazing.. it is just that HoN has developed good tracking and balancing system. i can't wait to play the DotA 2..!! ReplyDeleteLoL is just something original.. It's like Counter Strike and Call of Duty; sure, they're the same game genre, but LoL and DotA are different
So, I'd have to say: HoN>DotA and LoL is different from other stuff
However, I still spend more of my time with DotA, although I've recently been playing a lot less and some of my friends have been switching over to HoN
DotA2 will probably be the bomb though; hopefully, you won't have to pay monthly or get certain advantages by money (like you do in LoL)

ReplyDeletehmm yeah no need to argue which is better hon or dota, hon is far more superior in graphics and other feature. but that's because hon is a standalone game and dota is made in warcraft3 environment. so expect a lot more in dota2 as it is a standalone game and of course it will beat the shit aoutta Hon.

ReplyDeleteThere will be some conflict about this project.Some people wants to renew or replace the names and appearance of every hero.SOme wants it to be just like the normal DotA.People dont you get it?DotA is DotA and HoN is HoN so all DotA Heroes in the 1st DotA will still be in DotA 2.The only similarities about HoN and DotA 2 is their graphics.I agree to the other players who wanted DotA 2 heroes will be the same as the 1st DotA.But the problem is its Worldwide I mean the program is just like Garena.It can be Nation vs Nation battle that means If there are noobs (sorry need to use this term)that means they can be easily swept away by other enemy players.But I have also a good news.There also Nation Servers or Rooms for each Playing Nations.

ReplyDeleteThere are too many people that so obsessed to DOTA. Wake up guys HoN is HoN and Dota is Dota. Both have pros and cons. for me LoL is better than Dota and HoN because its original. Champions and items are not copied and I think Dota creators are also part of LoL. But Dota 2 will still rock RTS games as long as all expectations are met.

ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm play all 3 of the games mentioned, LoL, HoN and DotA. HoN and LoL is not mirrors, rip-offs of DotA. They are people, who are interested to see DotA, in a different point of view, with more graphics, or by changing the gameplay such as LoL did.
IMO, LoL walks in the path of Teamwork. No matter how strong your 'Champion' is, you can never use just one SINGLE skill to take down an entire team, or all of your skills, and strut out alive like DotA. You have to work with your teammates to end the game, annihilate the team whether you like it or not.
HoN, is a special one. It decided to go on a brand new engine, runs on better graphics, and focuses more on the 'balance' of each and every hero. You may think that a certain hero is OP, but it's not. Every hero in HoN is overpowered, but still has their cons to be taken down by another hero. It's the way you play it.
DotA? Don't bother, it's the first warcraft map I've ever enjoyed so much. Yes, I admit it is very fun, but with collided maps, leavers, maphacks, you just get so sick of it. In the end, WE all, players of all these 3 games thank DotA. Cuz without the creation of DotA, there will not be HoN or LoL.
Oh, and stop saying that HoN players are noobs. You are a pro? You come down to HoN and WE shall see who pawns who. If you think you're really good in DotA and you're the best. Think twice, there are tons of players in the world that can be better than you in ALL 3 games. Stop trying to make yourselves more superior. You're in fact, degrading yourself.

ReplyDeleteBut for me, the way i see it, there is no problem with the three games. they were made uniquely but just have similarities. and actually, you correctly pointed out the gameplay.
on my exprience, i guess i can say that still the best is dota. but, it is being left by the graphics od the other games.
i think, all tthey need to do is to enhance the effects of the skills and other part of the game so that it would be more interesting to play.
next is to add more security to prevent using of such cheats.
actually, even changing the dota's graphics quality into a better and competitive one is never a problem if they will still use the same name of heroes and items so that the players will not have a hardtime in learning it all over again. ryt?
