Mineski wins DotA and CS WGT PH Tournament
What better way to prove that they are the best in town by besting out several other elite teams and taking on a Grand Slam in the eSports category of WGT 08. Congratulations to Mineski - DotA and Counter Strike Champions, WorldGameMasters Tournament Philippines.
Mineski DotA Team outlasted 7 other top local teams from across the islands including EXS and schooled from Cebu, Davao's FK and NoMets, and theos, EZ, Homeboys rounding up for the home town teams which fell prey to the uncanny Mineski. However, the route to the championship was not easy for Mineski this time as every opponent proved their worth being in the final 8.
On the other hand, Mineski CS Division on the other hand outgunned other rookie teams, the representative of the country for 3 years and counting had no trouble retaining their title.

DotA Team Pandemic disbands
Team Pandemic confirmed the rumor about their disbandment. It was today confirmed by Marc-Oliver 'desRow' Proulx. The state of the team was uncertain when we last spoke with the tPD captain, Mohammed 'mO`' Nasar, he did on the other hand ensure us that it would only take a few days to give a final verdict - that day was today.
tPD has only had their new DotA team for 4 months, when the American team Jukes On You got signed.
tPD was currently attending this Pride #11 and were supposed to play against H2O in the loser bracket, after getting knocked out of the winner bracket by neXt. H2O will get a default win due to the disbandment of tPD and will be one step closer to fight for the grand final spot!
We also got a statement from the tPD's manager Marc-Oliver 'desRow' Proulx, who said this to us:
"After 1-2 weeks of internal problems, the team couldn't continue and didint have the same synergy as before, therefore we disband.
Thanks to everyone for the great support and I wish good luck to all my ex-players!"

DotA Interview with EHome.820

Hi, 820, thanks for accepting our interview, lets say hello to everyone and make a brief introduction of yourself please.
- Hello everyone I am 820 from EHOME, thanks for the interview.
So you are in EHOME for more than a month now, are you familiar with EHOME?
- I think so, but I am not adapted to Bejing's weather yet.
What is your reason to join EHOME?
- To be the World Champion.
Why insist in bringing 357 along from CaNt to EHOME?
- I knew him long time ago and I know that he has great potential.
DotA is a team game, how you fit yourself in the new team?
- Besides training, I communicate more with my teammates and try to understand what they want.
EHOME lost to Ks in recent PD#11 game, is it because of the lag and delay?
- No, the connection is fine. We lost because we lack teamwork, and we were doing our own stuff and not playing as a team in that game.
Why forfeiting games so often. especially in F4F?
- The main problem is the internet, even in 4am midnight there is a 0.5+ seconds delay.
How did your team train for MGC LAN?
- We are trying to improve our teamplay.
Did you guys prepared any new strategy to use againts strong oponent?
- Nope, just play like normal.
What do you think about strong teams like Fnatic, Ks.int and CaNt?
- All of them are strong teams and shouldn't be underestimated.
So Sk, MYM and DTS will not be attending MGC08, do you feel unfortunate?
- Ya of course, I want to play againts foreign teams.
Which team you want to meet the most in MGC? What will you feel if you meet
our former team, CaNt?
- Ks.int and Fnatic I think, It's boring to play againts same local teams. I will just do my best.
Do you think EHOME can win MGC08? If you get the prize money what will you do with it?
- Of course we can win, I will save the money.
Do you agree that MGC is actually a gathering for DotA players?
- I agree, basically every strong team in China is here.
What do you think about MGC?
- A good event, i hope there will be more events like this in China
When are you going to Wuhan?
- 23th, 09:00pm.
What do you plan to do on train?
- Sleep, and maybe communicate with my teammates.
EHOME members love to play cards, will you join your mates?
- Nope, I am not a fan of card games, I'd rather read some novels.
KS.Int DotA Interview in China
Hi, welcome to MGC, is this your first time in China?
Jolie: Yeah it's my first time.
HoroN: Me too.
Gunz: I came here two and a half years ago, this is my second time.
What is your first impression of China?
Jolie: Not bad, it's so different from Russia, and our dinner last night was so spicy!
Gunz: I want to eat PIZZA! ( The interview was done at Pizza Hut, China Optical Valley)
Let's talk about upcoming matches, what is your main aim in MGC?
Jolie: Of course the champion, we came here for the champion title.
Which team will be your toughest opponent? Fnatic or EHOME?
HoroN: I think it should be EHOME.
How much you know about the Chinese players? Anyone you know?
Jolie: Dolphin from CT and GK from EHOME.
Gunz: 357, I've seen his replays.
HoroN: I don't know about Chinese players.
Any special strategy for MGC?
Jolie: Of course, but we won't tell you!
What do you think about your new teammate, 2009? Can he replace Azen?
Jolie: He's a good player, I've seen his replays. I think he himself proved his own value.
MGC DotA will be in 6.53, any training on this map?
Jolie/Gunz: I think it is almost same as 6.52e, the only difference is just the Clockwerk Goblin.
This is the first time an International team compete in China, are you guys on pressure? How do you cope with it?
Jolie: Nope we are fine.
There are many China VP fans that want to know the true reason of VP's disband, can you tell us abit more?
Jolie: It is the changes of version and got bored with so many tournaments, I have not seen Vigoss for 2 months!

World of Warcraft gamer plays 36 accounts simultaneously
... and he plays 36 World of Warcraft accounts all by himself.
View his little "gaming center."

What can he say about this?
A lot have asked me, why create so many? The main reason is to invade Stormwind and Ironforge when they reach top level. I'm sure the Alliance will put up a big fight when that happens. We'll see how it goes. If they don't make level 70 before Wrath of the Lich King, then it will be at level 80. That is my main goal. That will probably happen after I've got some PvP gear from the battlegrounds. I'm also planning to do some 25 and 10 man raid instances but that is secondary to my PvP goal. Of course I'll be doing arenas too to build up PvP gear but I'm not expecting to do that great there because I'm way behind in gear right now. I need to get to level 70 first, then level 80 and by then I will probably have all green gear while most others have been doing the battlegrounds and arenas.
It costs me exactly $5711 in subscription costs per year with 36 accounts on the 6 month pay schedule. Not bad considering I'm looking at it like it's a hobby and there are more expensive hobbies out there than World of Warcraft.
When Wrath of the Lich King is released, I plan to be at the store when it opens and will purchase 36 copies of it. With tax, it should be about $1500 for all of them. Then the shaman are on their way to level 80 along with the priest, druid and mage.
That's $5,711 people!!! Just for WoW. Imba guy. What do you guys think?

DotA e-journalist: myMYM|Heldarion
Could you make some sort of short introduction?
Well, I'm a 21 years old student, currently taking an Economics course and am in my final year. I like to party and play DotA along with some sports I play just for fun! I've been playing DotA since the 3.xx versions on RoC and moved onto DotA Allstars with the 5.84 map.
So could you tell how does a usual day of Max Williams look like?
Well, my economics course has a pretty light workload (about 10 hours a week) so I will usually go to my classes during the day and spend some time with friends, depending on how long I have between classes. I will sometimes play DotA in the day with just inhouse games or an IHCS or Dotainvite. In the evenings I will usually either go out and party or play scrims and fun maps with friends.
So by the looks of it, you don't really have any kind of agenda, or do you? (and don't say you're executing a plan for global domination, even freemasons and illuminati are saying that nowadays)
Well, my agenda at the momment is to complete my degree and to go from there. I'm taking it at a good university and I'm pretty smart guy so I'm able to do well at it without overstudying. I enjoy partying and playing DotA so those 2 things take up most of my free time. After I finish my degree, I will probably have to look for a real job though.
So you really try to take as much fun in your life as you can and postpone the serious bussines of life until you can?
Pretty much, yea. I'm not going to be young forever so I'm making the most of interest-free loans while they still exist and trying to enjoy student life and having a lot of free time as much as possible!
And how do the girls interfere with your existence? Are you in relationship or freeriding for now?
Well, I had a relationship for quite a long time but that ended in May for reasons that some of my online friends know. Since then I've had more of a 'part-time girlfriend' who I spent time with over the summer but I'm pretty much single now!
So you could say that being single is a good time in the life?
Yea, it's really great to be single now. I'm able to party and get really drunk without having to worry about consequences of what might happen!
What computer games did you start with?
I started off with a game called 'hardball' that my dad bought when I was really young. It was a piece of shit and was before I even had Windows on the computer! The first game that I really liked was Diablo even though it was really gorey and my mother didn't want me to play it. Since then I've played Warcraft 2, Diablo 2 and a few other games not as seriously.
How did you then end up playing DotA?
It was actually my little brother that bought the game Warcraft 3. I never really played it that much except to help him out with the campaigns. One day I found him playing a custom map online in the RoC version and it looked pretty cool. I played RoC dota for quite a long time even though I had the TFT disc and DotA Allstars was already alive and kicking. I thought that DotA was exclusive to RoC. I eventually moved onto DotA Allstars and started playing pubs there!
And what were your favourites among heroes? Did they stay more or less the same, or did they change over time and versions?
Oh, my favourite heroes have changed completly over the different versions. When I first started playing in 5v5 games, this was around the 6.12 versions, I was playing Treant and Crystal Maiden quite a lot. I still remmember getting owned by Mania's solo Sand King with my Treant in a scrim! From there I played quite a bit of Sniper, Tidehunter, Death Prophet, Lich and all of those heroes that were so popular when it was Sentinel vs Scourge up until the .32 versions. After that I started really liking Panda, Rhasta and heroes that worked reallly well as a killing lane together. Now my favourites are Zeus/Rikimaru/Warlock/Tide/Shaker/Jugger/Lion/Enigma I think.
So you ended up playing competitive DotA sooner or later, right? Can you tell us where did you play, any achievements you had and which team did you like the most?
Yes, my first competitive team was 'eF' which I made with a few friends that I had met through playing on the DCE channel on Europe Battlenet. We played on Dota-League and I was pleased with the succes that we had even if we did get beaten by teams such as OnD, Boomtown and QxP. From there I joined the team 'Nethouse2000' which is a netcafe in Denmark and that was the first very strong team that I was a part of. I was playing with SoyCD (who was probably the best player in the world at that point in time), Puppey (who I play with now), iMbaQ and Quish (who was a member of my team eF). After that team disbanded, I was relatively inactive for a while and only played in inhouse games and IHCS.
I was part of TEAM PENIS which was relatively successful during one of the Pride tournaments but it was only a fun team for that tourney. From there, Myself and some others went on to form XsK which was probably my favourite team up to this date. Unfortunately we couldn't get support to attend LAN events from a major sponsor so the team broke up. After playing with XsK, I joined RuSh3D which was a great team and really fun to play in. The reason that I didn't stay with RuSh3D is that I was the 6th player in the lineup (after the 5 Russian players who live in the same city). From there, I have just recently joined Ks.int.
And how did your nick come to be?
My original nick was TheGunShow which was used only in publics. When I formed the clan 'eF' everybody picked new names. I wanted something similar to 'TheGunShow' and also something that sounded good. I was listening to a lot of hip-hop at the time and I got the name 'GunzComeOut' from a 50cent song.
The DotA game itself has changed much from .48b to .52e and there's been a lot of talk about it. Even though the current stable map is quite spectator-unfriendly and not much more fun to play either, could you name (in your opinion) 1 thing that was good and 1 thing that was bad in both last stable versions?
For the most of 43b and 48b I really liked the lineups that were being picked as they were fun to play and agressive play was rewarded. It became tedious when dagger started to get overused though. For 52e, I really like that you can make a very strong hero with mid-level items and be able to rape the map (Treads/Vlads/Yasha etc).
What I don't like about 52 is that baseturtling seems to be the dominant and most effective strategy at the momment with 2 lategamer heroes. I'm really looking forward to playing 55+ competitively as I'm having a lot more fun playing and really like the changes! You can run around ramboing and agressive play is rewarded once again!
You mentioned baseturtling, which also doesn't seem to take too much skill to play. How much of a game do you think is decided by the players' skill right now and how much by the strategy? Also, how would you rate those aspects in .48b?
I think that 52e games are probably the least reliant on skill so far in competitive DotA. It's too farm-oriented and really boring to play and watch. The fact that you can pick 1 hero (Pit Lord) which almost completly stops the other team from pushing while you get a fat hero that can 1v5 their team is ridiculous in my view.
I think that 48b relied much more on skill as lane domination was more important and small skirmishes often decided the outcome of the game rather than aoe ulti heroes just pressing 1 button in a big fight. Of course strategy is essentieal for both of the versions but I think that it was more valuable for 48b.
Since you're British, you seem to be some kind of an endangered species - we don't really see many British players or teams running around the DotA scene. So why is that? Is the British era of DotA yet to come or will the things stay as they are?
I don't really forsee British DotA taking off in the near future. I've played a few simple tournaments at my university but I have encountered nothing but noobs in those! To my knowledge, there are only 5 or 6 British players that I would even be able to name and only 2 or 3 have any level of skill. It's unfortunate, but I think that for some reason the player base doesn't seem to be there as it is in other countries - Eastern Europe and Asia seem to have the highest player bases.
How did you end up joining Ks^int in first place?
Well, Ks.int was in the market for some new players because of the reform to DTS and I have known the players on the team for a very long time. I had been playing a lot of funwars together with puppet, azen and jolie before the Ukrainians were even picked up. I came back from holidays and found that they had both joined and left very quickly and was offered a spot on Ks.int.
And how is Jolie doing right now? I'd say he must be quite pissed off at least, after so many roster changes his team has had in last few months.
I would say 'frustrated' would be the right word for that one. And who wouldn't be after having so many roster changes over such a short period of time!! It's been a bad luck after bad luck for Puppet and Jolie since the original break up of VP. Myself and the rest of Ks.int are very optimistic about the future though, now that we have a stable lineup again, we can start to own everybody once again!
So are your plans with Ks^int more like long-term, or more in the way of "what happens, happens"?
We are planning on achieving long-term success with this team. We have a very skilled lineup and good chemistry and we won't let the past problems with the team effect the future of our new roster!
Alright. Let's do some brainstorming! I'll give you a word or a phrase and you say whatever comes to your mind first. Ready?
Go.
Puppey: gay
Beer: party
IHCS: fun
Tony Blair: big ears
Sniper rifle or a shotgun: GUNZ MOFO!
Study: school
IRC: complicated
Ks^int: PRO
Traitor: bad
Admiral Proudmoore: Strong!
So, our interview is at end. I admit it's been a lot of fun chatting with you and thanks a lot! Any final shoutouts you'd like to give?
Yea, it's been a good interview and some interesting questions. I'd like to give a shoutout to Miky being bad at ladder. Also, a shoutout to mocles who is safe and mamay for being so good!

Bogdan and JesseQ joins Gvision DotA
About two weeks ago the DotA team of SK-Gaming dropped one of their oldest members - Bogdan. Even though he seemed to lack train he claimed to be back to the scene soon. Furthermore he said that he won`t be able to play in one of the very top teams. Due to this the news of Bogdan joining Gvision together with the old school legend JesseQ is a real surprise.
Gvision just got the fourth place in the past FARM4FAME edition, even though they lost Zon and dropped Scream out of their team some time ago. Now with new strength they are surely a big threat for the top tier teams.
Statement by Gvision\InOurNa
The former SK player Bogdan and the legendary player JesseQ is back. Now in the team Gvision who recently finished 4 in farm4fame second round. With these two fantastic players Gvision will now aim for the top. We have a young and hungry team. So both JesseQ and Bogdan will fit in well with their experience. The lineup is as follow: Mighty, pepp3, PieLieDie, BenTzeR, Bogdan and JesseQ.
Team Gvision
Johan `Mighty` Lindqvist
Johan `PieD` Åström
Petter `pepp3` Nyström

DotA's Guinsoo working on League of Legends

Early this month, Guinsoo made a rare announcement at the DotA-AllStars forum. He surfaced to announce what he has been working on ever since he stepped down as the leader of the DotA All-Stars map project.
The secret is out.
Steve 'Guinsoo' Feak has actually been working on an online game together with none other than Steve 'Pendragon' Mescon that builds on the concepts of DotA.
Brandon Beck, co-founder and CEO of Riot Games has released the following statements:
"League of Legends will bring gamers competitive battle-arena style gameplay that builds upon and expands on innovative gameplay concepts that were pioneered in DotA-Allstars, one of the most popular mods of all time,"Screenshots and teasers are now available at the League of Legends site.

Kingsurf DotA Team Spotlight
Here's a little feature from ChinaPress about Malaysia's KingSurf.
Cheng Su-Law: I'm surprised that they can earn money by playing video games
Which child in this generation does not play video games? About her son Lee "xiaogui" Wen Chek's choice, she supports him with tolerance while supervising her son. "I did not stop him from playing video games, because he had this talent, being his parents, I could not hide his talent for video games," said Cheng.
While supporting her son in E-sports, she also "escorts" his son, analysing her son's future. "Children should have their own choice once they are grown up. The important thing is he must have clear understanding of the path he is on, and treat it seriously, learn to be responsible for what they have done."
She smiled and said "My son is sensible, he tells me immediately everytime he won an award, I feel glad for him that he dealt with E-sports seriously."
"I never expect him to be so good at video games, he can even finance his own living cost! But of course I still hope that he can continue his studies."
Lee "xiaogui" Wen Chek: Be serious

With the superstar Yamateh in the team, xiaogui's performance always remained hidden, but it is good enough. There's no doubt that he is one of the best supporters in the DotA scene.
There is a comment by a DotA player about xiaogui, commenting his ability. Xiaogui, who is only 19 years old, is the leader and strategist of Kingsurf. He might look like a kid, but he is definately one of the top players around. Starting by getting stuck into the game, then forming his own team for tournaments, he does not want to lose. Therefore he treats every tournament seriously.
"I think the secret to success in DotA is teamwork! DotA is a team game, it is impossible to win one againts five no matter how strong you are, right? Support between teammates enables unlimited strategy posibilities, this is why DotA is so attractive."
Lee Wen Chek pointed out that teamwork determines the performance of a team. "Besides having knowledge of heroes and skills, other issues like synergies between heroes, good understanding of the terrain, are the "ammunition" of the team. In some cases, this knowledge became the key to the victory.
Perhaps everyone thinks that the indulgence of the game will affect his life, but he thinks it is all about time management. If one can manage time well, managing both gaming and studies would not be a big problem."I would like to thank my parents for their tolerance and encouragement, so I can try living the way I want - as a pro-gamer, but not going too far."
Wong "eryc" Wei Zhen: E-sport will be globalized.
In our country, everyone sees video games as video games. Even some of the players themselves might not understand the true nature of gaming. But in fact, video games have already evolved into E-Sports.
Being a DotA player himself, Kingsurf's manager eryc feels that E-sports are not only sports, it affects the software industry, online games, broadband telecommunications operators, owners of internet cafes, hardware manufacturers, and even the PC industry.
"However, it is very dificult for Malaysia E-sports to become a thriving industry because of the lack of regulation, investment, professional, social environment, and so on, all parties need time to adapt and gradually start changing."
"I still think that E-sports have a great potential. It wil eventually be globalized, recognized by everyone in the world. It is not a dream, but a trend..."
"I am confident that this day will come, like how Kingsurf made its own way to the world arena.." In Asian countries, many youngsters love E-sports, but their parents are bound to traditional concepts, thus stopping their children from involving themselves in E-sports, therefore, E-sports receive both support and defiance from the community at the same time.
The key to the development of E-sports is that players must be taught how to find a balance between gaming and life. "I hope the performance of our team can be a role model to parents and public."
Lee "papaxiong" Wei Xiang: I trained for 10 hours everyday
Lee Wei Xiang who has 3 years experience in DotA and is now a professional gamer. He lives on tournament prizes and team allowance. Having great talent for video games, he has the support from his parents. Papaxiong is now one of the best support players in the international DotA scene.
"The training needed for a pro-gamer to keep up his standard such as 10 hours of online training everyday, is not as easy as it looks like." He also added that Malaysia's poor broadband network caused problems in online tournaments and training.
Imagine how Kingsurf plays in online tournaments, first spending 3 hours looking for a host, and delay in the game after that. When the game is finally started, it is already 4am. Still, some of them need to attend classes or work the next morning. This is the main problem that Ks faces in online tournaments.
"The main problem is finding a suitable host." Technical differences, as well as network infrastructure deficiency is an unavoidable dilemma in Asian countries. However, the poor network between North America and Europe is also one of the main reasons.
"We face the same problems with other Asian teams. Because of the delay, we often make mistakes in online training and tournaments, so we must learn how to overcome the delay." Although he always plays in such poor conditions, it never stops his enthusiasm for DotA.

The Mock Draft of Fnatic

Everybody hated the farmfest that was rampant in the older versions of DotA.
It was farm here, farm there... Boring!
And all of a sudden 6.55 comes up.
The DotA Beta testers have been working on new stuff that would encourage more team fights and discourages the farm frenzy.
Now Fnatic will be conducting mock drafts on the new DotA map.
What is a mock draft?
A mock draft is when a player or team pretends they are drafting heroes for real but this is just for experimentation and fun!
The mock drafts will allow the community to see how drafting will change in the future when the new map is implemented into leagues and tournaments. There will also be a small panel of judges present during the draft to discuss which team or player has the better hero selections and why, allowing the community to understand just that much more the logic behind each team's choices.

DotA Interview with mouz|Drayich
Interview proper:
NiK - Hello mouz|Drayich, your team is going to face MYM in the Razer ENADC II WB Final. It's not a long time you played vs MYM, in a final of another important tournament, how is your team approaching that match?
mouz|Drayich- We approach all games in the same way, getting decent picks and playing the game that we wish to play. MYM has numerous times beaten us with a more late game oriented strategy then ours, something that is interesting when we play versus them. But we don't change anything, we play our game
NiK - Can you tell us some anticipations on how are you going to prepare the match?
mouz|Drayich- We try to use our strongest players, that can differ. Sometimes people have bad and good days.
NiK - What's the strongest team you met in ENADC so far? and how did you managed to won against it?
mouz|Drayich- SK. We beat them in that BO1 tiebreak of group stage. They thought they already won the game but nana.
NiK - After some problems, team MYM is recently doing really good with 6.52e, your team instead was quite confident with the6.52e map since its release. What is in your opinion the reason for this different attitude to the 6.52e map?
mouz|Drayich- Every team gotta find their play style for every version, i dont think mym did so bad, just that maybe they had bad confidence from some losses in the beginning.
NiK - Insome recent discussions you raised the question about the need to change the way of doing bans/picks in competitive games. Icefrog just released the 6.55 map, with the new -cm mode, have you already tried it? What's your opinion?
mouz|Drayich- Icefrog and my wife seems to be the only one who really gets me now. Seriously that's perfect, hope leagues take use of it.
NiK- 6.55 brings a lot of change logs, heroes balances and also a reworking of the dagger.Common feeling is that a new 6.55-based stable will not take so long to be released for competitive games. Can you give us some first impressions about 6.55 ?
mouz|Drayich - This is the best version so far for competitive dota.

DotA Farm4Fame: MYM in the final again

MYM is in the final for the DotA Farm4Fame again.
After winning the inaugural F4F tournament, Internationa- MYM.DotA squad managed to make its way into the 2nd F4F final as well. Beating teams like Malaysia Kingsurf, France srs, Malaysia DNA-SK and Sweden Gvision has nearly gone unnoticed, but the final match is almost there again. MYM's possible opponent is either Germany Wicked Esports or Sweden Mousesports, the previous F4F tournament's runner-up. Who will face MYM in the final will be known by the end of tomorrow.
MYM has enjoyed success of late, taking their first 6.52e trophy by winning first F4F, and now they have also reached the finals of ENADC tournament. While MYM players certainly aren't enjoying themselves with the current playstyle, according to their teamleader Maelk, the team sure knows what it takes to win and they will make sure to keep the throne of F4F winner
DotA KOTH: Mouz to snatch MYM's DotA throne

The SteelSeries King of the Hill round one ended with MeetYourMakers taking down Finland Delirium Gaming to be the first King. The second episode quickly begins with the community voting the next challenger out of 30 randomed teams featuring teams like Europe Mousesports and United State- H2O. After the voting session, mousesports turned out to be on top having received 448 votes with a total percentage of 34.9% to play the current King of the Hill.
Both teams last met at F4F finals where MYM secured an 2:0 victory. they will also meet in ENADC II and perhaps F4F II finals, with so many games between them coming up, each of them will try to prove themselves as the better team.
Will mouz rise as the new king or will MYM successfully defend their throne? Bet your points and stay tuned to myMYM.com for more updates

DreamHack to drop DotA out of the festivities

Here is another blow to the DotA gaming scene.
The bi-annual DotA-tournament at DreamHack is one of the biggest LAN-events for DotA in the Western world, but according to the preliminary list of eSport-games for DH Winter 08, the game has gotten the boot.
The current version of DotA has been subject to heavy debate in the past weeks, and this situation could add more to that fire. There has been made no official comment on the matter, but so far only CS 1.6, CS:Source, Trackmania and the Quake-franchise has been named as official games for the Winter-edition of DreamHack.
Ks.int DotA team back with a complete roster
Ks.int adds the former Say Plz player Sorokin 'Horon' Sergeevich and the Rush3D ex-member Max 'GunZ' Williams.
Horon is known for the disqualification incidence in PriDe#4. He was playing for the Russian teams Say Plz and Siberian Doters, even though he was officially signed up on the roster of team maGe. As a consequence, both teams were disqualified and Horon was even banned from the tournament.
GunZ is well known in the DotA scene, he participated in many previous top teams like XsK, ScaF and Nethouse2000, lately in Rush3D. Besides he is showing his decent skills performing at IHCS.
"Ks.eryc:
The retirement of the three Ukrainian seem to come out of nowhere, within a day all of them left and joined DTS-Gaming without even telling me. We only need people who really want to play for Kingsurf.international, if they leave, I won't do anything to keep them. I'm also a bit disappointed how everything passed but we immediately discussed about the future plans. It was clear that we will not get stucked even though the situation felt a bit like a knockdown blow. Horon and GunZ were suggested mainly by Puppey and Jolie and I trust them so we will try out if it works. Horon is a good supporter whom we need desperately and GunZ is a decent team player together with Jolie as leader + Puppey and Azen as mature players, I'm quite sure the team will find back fast to their old shape if not becoming even better.
Ks.GunZ:
I'm really looking forward to play in this team. I have been playing with Puppey, Jolie and Azen for a very long time and hopefully we will be able to start winning some tournaments with a new and stable lineup! We haven't trained yet with all 5 of us but we are used to play together in fufu ninja wars and scrims so I look on the bright side. Everybody on the team already has a very good chemistry together with each other so it shouldn't take us long to start owning everything! The skill level is definitely there and I'm sure everybody will see a lot of us in the upcoming tournaments."
Current Kingsurf roster:
Clement `Puppey` Ivanov
Vlasislav `Azen` Morozyuk
Pepelyaev `Jolie` Vasiliy
Sorokin `Horon` Sergeevich
Max `GunZ` Williams

if you are fogged. It just prevents invisibility.

190 Gold

Some Hero Details:
-------------------

are just some of the changes in more detail.
++ Keeper of the Light
Illuminate:
=======
It now gives vision gradually as it grows in the area it is "illuminating"
rather than at the end.
Fixed Illuminate's interaction with Cliffs and units very close to it
Mana Leak:
========
In short, a mana rupture. The numbers are 0.035/0.04/0.045/0.050% of total
manapool drained per unit moved. So, if the target moves 700 units, at level
1 it loses 24.5% of total mana pool.. at level 4 it loses 35% of its total
mana pool. Duration of the buff is 5/6/7/8
If the target runs out of mana, the effect stops and the target is stunned
for 1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds.
Cast Range: 1200
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Manacost: 75
Chakra:
======
Increased cast range(500->900), lowered cooldown a bit(19->19/18/17/16

bonus and minor health regen.

-Cast Range: 600
-Mancost: 50 Manacost
-Cooldown: 20 seconds
-Duration: 3/4/5 seconds

player based damage in this period, the effect ends.
-Mancost: 100
-Cooldown: 40
Illuminate:

discharge it by clicking on a temporary replacement icon that appears in
your ability card.

280 -> 400 ms
Greater Quillbeast 700 -> 500 hp
Cooldown: 45/50/55/60 -> 40 seconds
Duration: 60/70/80/90 -> 60 seconds
Captains Mode:
--------------
Blue and Pink are the team captains. A random side starts the process(you
can customize this, see below)
Ban Time: 40
Pick Time: 60
Extra Time: 45
You start by alternating 1/1/1 in the ban phase. Each captain removes up to
4 heroes. Running out of time does not result in a random hero ban.
After that you enter the 1/2/2/ pick phase. Each captain picks the heroes
his team will use.
If at any time you run out of time, you start to use up your extra time. If
you run out and you are in pick phase, you get a random hero.
Creeps spawn 90 seconds after the pick draft phase is over. Right after the
hero pick phase ends, the 5 heroes for your team are presented with a
checkmark on them (RD style) allowing players on your team to pick which one
they want to be.
The captain that starts this process is random. If you want to give the
starting to Sentinel, type -cm 1 or -cm 2 for Scourge after the game mode is
entered.
The picks, bans, timers, etc are all presented in a board for easy viewing
by team mates and observers.

Fnatic DotA Roster Changes

Neo retires from DotA because of his studies. With Neo leaving, Fnatic has announced the addition of Farand "Koala" Kowara.
Current Fnatic line-up:
* Ritter "RitteR" Rusli
* Romi "melen" Gunawan
* Sugiarto "BaHaMuT" Cahyadi
* Ariyanto "Lakuci" Sony
* Farand "Koala" Kowara
Jeffry "Neo" Lu joined the team soon after they joined Fnatic to replace stamx who also retired. Since then he has participated with the team in ADC and helped them win first place at WGT Indonesia and WGT Singapore.
Koala was considered to be a strong player with hidden talent by melen, and he was the first person that he thought of to replace Neo. You can watch Koala play with his new team at the MGC event in China and in ADC online. Fnatic DotA is also playing in SKOTH 2, Prime Defending and Kode5.
Good luck to Koala and his new teammates! Thanks to Neo for being on the team and good luck to him with his studies and future.
